Useful Amazon Tools and Gadgets Every Maker or Handyman Should Have

Over the years, I’ve come across some truly invaluable tools and gadgets on Amazon. Items that have saved me time, effort, and the occasional headache in my own workshop. Whether it’s a clever clamp, a compact measuring device, or a tool I didn’t know I needed until I had it, these finds have earned their place on my bench.

I’ve always believed that good tool ideas should be shared, so I’ve put together this list for fellow makers, tinkerers, and handy people who appreciate smart, reliable gear that actually makes a difference. This is not completed yet but I've made a good start so far. Check out this post 5 Amazon Buys I Didn’t Expect to Love for some great ideas after you finish here.

Horizontal Mounting Magnetic Cup Holder Beverage Holder Drink Holder

I am always looking for gadgets and holders for various ways of mounting stuff on my Workshop machines and these cups are an absolute gem. Pictured her on one of my lathe beds, rock solid!

I tried everything else I could think of but nothing worked, and then I found these cups.

These work at almost any angle and the magnetic base is surprisingly very strong. Ideal for the Workshop, Garage or House and won't break the bank.

The handy man or woman in your life will thank you if you buy 3 or 4 of these!

2 Pack Magnetic Power Tool Organizer, Strong Magnet Mount Garage Storage Rack

Another Workshop accessory I never knew I needed. I had been storing my battery drills under the counter in an inconvenient place for years. I bought these magnetic holders and not only can I now store my drills in a good location but I can carry them to a new location where I'm working at any time and have instant access to my drills.

They are capable of holding the weight of my Bosch 18V Battery Drills with battery without slipping.

I recently bought more for my office to hold packing tape guns and pricing guns. I have just added an image below for example. You can see more images on Amazon if you choose to go there.

Bosch Professional 18V System Cordless Combo-Kit GSB 18V

Always go for the Bosch Blue range when choosing an 18V Bosch battery drill—the Green line is fine for very light tasks, but it’s really only suited to hobby-level use.

The Blue (Professional) series, on the other hand, is built for regular, demanding jobs and offers much better durability and torque.

Even if you’re only using it occasionally, it’s still worth buying the Blue version—you’ll appreciate the reliability when you need it most.

A quick tip: if your drill isn’t used often, charge the batteries every few months to keep them in good shape. This is easily one of the most reliable and useful cordless drills on Amazon for both home and workshop use. I would have taken a picture of my drills but they don't look like these anymore.

Baby Monitor,29-Hour Battery Life, Baby Monitor with Camera and Night Vision

Ok, this is a weird use for this but bear with me. I was looking for a way of keeping an eye out for my customers and couriers arriving while I was out the back of the house in my workshop.

I wanted something with a screen without going to the expense of buying a CCTV system. This worked perfectly and on a budget.

I can carry it from place to place too as I move around and adjust the camera direction remotely. Oh and you can also use it as a proper baby monitor if you like too lol.

You can use this to keep an eye on your front door while working around the house or keeping an eye on the kids in the next room without being intrusive. A truly great universal use purchase!

Please note that if you have a steel shed workshop, you will have to leave it at the door so that it maintains signal. Block or wooden shed is no problem

Winspeed Rubber Coated Magnet 30LBS, 12 Pack

These magnets are fantastic!

* The magnets have a strong hold, and the rubber makes them non-slip and non-scratch. * Each magnet also comes with a washer, lock-washer and nut. * The threading is standard M6

Overall these are great for DIY projects and fantastic in the workshop for mounting rulers, brushes and anything else you can think of in convenient easy to reach locations. Simply drill a hole through whatever you want to hang and secure using the nut.

Compressed Air Cleaner for PC, 3-Speed Adjustable Air Duster

Another tool I bought that I never knew I needed. This is very handy for cleaning office, computer, van, workshop, kitchen and more.

For the price, the battery on this model works very well and it manages each task before needing to be recharged.

If you don't have access to a compressor or your compressor hasn't air built up, this tool can get you out of a jam.

It states 35 mins of use but I haven't confirmed that. For €35 odd you can't go wrong. I came to Amazon to buy it as I saw many adds on social media for more than double the price. This may have been a cheaper option but it performs what I need it to with ease.

BINYATOOLS Magnetic Wristband

I have a few cheap magnetic wristbands around my workshop and they are bog-standard only. This on the other hand really looks the part and has the benefit of added wrist support.

The cheap ones constantly slide up /down the arm. This one, with the hole in the thumb, looks like it stays sturdy during any kind of work.

It is lightweight, thinner than others, and has a dual use you can see if you follow one of the links below.
